Collect Every Digital Royalty

Professional SoundExchange administration to ensure you receive every digital performance royalty you're owed.

The Basics

What Is SoundExchange?

SoundExchange is the nonprofit organization designated by the U.S. Copyright Royalty Board to collect and distribute digital performance royalties on behalf of sound recording copyright owners and featured artists.

When your music is played on non-interactive streaming platforms — Pandora, SiriusXM, iHeartRadio, cable music channels, and hundreds of other digital services — SoundExchange collects the royalties and distributes them to registered rights holders.

These royalties are separate from what you earn on Spotify or Apple Music. If you're not registered with SoundExchange, this money goes uncollected.

What We Handle

From initial registration to ongoing royalty collection, we manage every aspect of your SoundExchange account.

Account Registration

We register you with SoundExchange as both a featured artist and sound recording copyright owner, ensuring you receive both shares of royalties.

Catalog Registration

Every track in your catalog is registered with correct ISRC codes, artist credits, and rights-holder information so royalties are attributed properly.

Royalty Collection

We monitor your account, track incoming royalties, and ensure payments are set up correctly so your money reaches you on schedule.

Payment Setup

We configure your payment preferences — direct deposit, check, or wire transfer — and handle any tax documentation required by SoundExchange.

Reporting & Monitoring

Quarterly reports show every stream tracked, every dollar collected, and how your catalog is performing across digital platforms.

Ongoing Support

New releases get added automatically. We handle disputes, corrections, and catalog updates so your registrations are always current.

The 50/45/5 Split

SoundExchange distributes royalties in a specific split:

  • 50% — Sound recording copyright owner (label or self-released artist)
  • 45% — Featured artist(s)
  • 5% — Non-featured artists (session musicians, backup vocalists via AFM/AFTRA)

If you're an independent artist who owns your masters, you're entitled to both the 50% owner share and the 45% artist share — but only if you're registered for both.

Why It Matters

Money You Might Be Missing

SoundExchange has distributed over $10 billion in royalties since its founding — but billions more remain uncollected because artists and labels haven't registered.

If you have music that's been played on Pandora, SiriusXM, or any non-interactive streaming service, there may be unclaimed royalties waiting for you right now.

We help you find and collect that money, then set up your account so future royalties flow automatically.
